We braved the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean on a 50-minute boat-ride from the Malé airport. Splash! We finally arrived at this pearl in the midst of pristine ocean waters, home to thousands of species of fish and other marine life. We quickly hopped off the boat and were shown to our room by some of the wonderful staff at the resort.
I stayed in a Beach Villa, the interiors reflected some traditional Maldivian craftsmanship and furnished in tropical style.
Some wonderful words from the Resort Manager “Life’s great happiness is to be convinced we are loved.” I also had the pleasure of interviewing him.
SPICE, the main restaurant at OBLU offers a wide range of cuisine from Maldivian, Italian, Chinese and much more, prepared by the finest chefs. Eat away, while the salt tinged fresh air soothes your mind while you gaze across the stunning horizons.
I had a strong appetite for sweets, and I didn’t feel guilty for having eaten much more than my fair share!
I managed to say “Hello” to this gummy shark visiting the lagoon. The resort is renowned for its exotic house reef, with its resident silver-tipped sharks, lobsters and giant sea turtles.
The heat was glorious, but intense, so I went on a hunt for something to refreshband found this setting, the perfect place you’d take that special someone for long walks on the beach and watch the endless shades of the sunset composed of red, giving way to pale yellows and pinks, letting the dust and haze fill the air.
